How long does it take before I know the results?
A certificate from a NATA accredited lab will be emailed to you with the results
within 7 days of receiving your sample.
What should I do if I find out there's asbestos where I live or work?
Any asbestos containing materials that are in poor condition should be removed by a licensed
asbestos contractor. There is no significant health risks if the asbestos is in good
condition.

How many types of asbestos are there? There are several types of asbestos. Some are more harmful than others but exposure to
any asbestos fibers can be harmful.
Where does the exposure to asbestos come from?
Asbestos exposure
occurs when asbestos containing materials
are disturbed. Disturbing
asbestos can occur
if you drill, saw or
demolish any section of your home or
workplace
that contains asbestos. Exposure
can also occur during building
construction work
including alterations, additions and renovations to your property.
How can asbestos enter the body? The most common way that asbestos enters the body is through breathing asbestos
fibers in the air that have been dislodged from
materials that contain asbestos.
How does asbestos affect my health? Asbestos fibers that are breathed into your body can lodge into your lungs and cause
lung cancer, asbestosis and mesothelioma which can appear 10 to 40 years after exposure
and are often fatal.
